JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES) - -


  • Closely monitor new processes and production runs of newly launched products
  • Assist in the evaluation of new raw materials and the disposition of nonconforming materials
  • Develop quality control plans and quality assurance tools as required
  • Develop and perform random process and product audits, capability studies, measurements, and report results
  • Promote an atmosphere of continuous process and employee improvement
  • Enforce quality standards in assigned area
  • Initiate changes to improve process and product quality
  • Assist, direct, and train other members of the Quality Assurance Department
  • Maintain quality records as required
  • Define, troubleshoot, and resolve daily shop problems using the corrective action and other quality tools where appropriate; Report on results
  • Review and follow-up with corrective actions on Consumable Division warranties
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Manager of Quality Assurance
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company's 2025 Strategy.

    BASIC REQUIREMENTS - -


    • Vocational Training and 3+ years experience required; or GED with 5+ years in related field. (but does not require a university degree).
    • Formal technical and/or quality training preferred
    • Highly motivated, quick to learn, and an uncompromising attitude towards quality
    • Excellent oral and written communication and people skills
    • Ability to organize and maintain a neat and safe work area
    • Able to develop and maintain records and to follow projects through to conclusion
    • Familiarity with or willingness to train in quality, Six Sigma, and auditing concepts
    • Ability to plan and work on multiple projects with minimal supervision and instruction
    • Familiarity with personal computers using the Windows - operating system, Microsoft Office, Apriso, and SAP
    • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and Consumable Division products
    • Capable of frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 60 pounds (rarely)
    • Excellent attendance, safety, and work record
    • Familiarity with quality assurance tools, procedures, measurement techniques, and test equipment
    • Ability to work a rotating shift
