Job Description:

Spang Power Electronics, a global manufacturer of specialty power control and conversion equipment, has an opening for a Compliance & Production Support Coordinator based at its Mentor, Ohio facility. Spang Power Electronics has locations in Mentor, OH, Sandy Lake, PA, and Xiamen, China.

The Compliance & Production Support Coordinator will be responsible for the compliance activities of Spang Power Electronics division with regards to all export regulations for the United States, including documentation, record maintenance and training. This position will be responsible for coordinating Engineering/Manufacturing updates to ensure all revisions to system projects are reflected in Spang's ERP system and on the shop floor. He or she will also support procurement as needed for project specific products for power systems, working with Sales, Purchasing, Systems Engineering, Development Engineering and Manufacturing.

Major Responsibilities:
Keep abreast of any changes to laws, regulations or standards that impact the organization.
Monitor EAR Export Administration Regulations
Denied Party screenings
Conflict Mineral (Dodd Frank) vendor screenings and customer requests.
Liaison with vendors and internal Spang departments throughout the purchasing process to ensure all specifications are met in a timely manner.
Specify vendors, request quotes and place orders
Communicate any internal changes in specifications to the vendor and any vendor changes to Engineering for approval
Follow-up with vendor to ensure that all dates are being met to ensure Spang's project timeline is not compromised - expedite if necessary
Attain all approvals from Engineering to release shipment from vendor
Coordinate any follow-up issues between Engineering and the vendor
Maintain Vendor Rating system (Semiannual)
Communicate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to coordinate revisions to Bill of Material (BOM).
Transfer Engineering revisions (BOM) to Manufacturing (Structure) module
Update any open shop orders to reflect changes
Convey changes to Manufacturing and Purchasing when necessary
Process end of day manufacturing transactions for U.S. and China
Process intercompany transactions
Close shop orders and issue product to inventory or appropriate shop order
Create intercompany invoices and forward to Accounts Payable
Backup for Purchasing, Logistics

Qualifications include an associate degree. Bachelor's degree preferred. 2+ years in an engineering support role, purchasing, or project management in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Recent graduates with relevant internship or work experience would be welcome to apply.
