JOB SUMMARY:The Account Executive (AE) is a Sales/ Business
Development based position that is primarily responsible for
generating admissions and growing census in a designated territory.
The incumbent's responsibilities are specific to either Home Care,
Hospice, Behavioral Health, or Personal Care Services service lines
Account Executives perform in person sales calls on targeted
accounts to promote Elara Caring service lines to generate
referrals. Additionally, once a referral is secured, the AE
actively partners with Clinical Operations to convert the referral
to an admission as necessary. Target accounts include Hospitals,
Physicians, Skilled Nursing Facilities and Assisted Living
Facilities. This position interfaces with a wide range of medical
professionals as well as patients and families of patients on a
daily basis to drive business results.SKILLS: Proven sales acumen

- Knowledge of the healthcare industryKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensures that all activities performed align with the vision of
Elara Caring's board of directors, executive team, and the
leadership of the Sales team.
- Promotes Elara Caring's mission and vision statement and
administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
- Maintains patient and staff privacy and confidentiality
pursuant to HIPAA Privacy Final Rule.
- Fosters positive morale among staff, by promotion of open
communication with all departments, to help create and maintain an
innovative and cooperative staff relationship, and
environment.
- Actively participates and engages in new hire and on-going
development sales training
- Identifies the needs of the referral sources and informs
physicians and facilities on patient summary of care.
- Educates and improves relationships between physicians,
hospitals, Skilled Nursing Facilities, ALF's, & AFC's regarding
regulations of home care, hospice industry, agency policies, and
informs vendors on scope of service.
- Performs community informational service events
- Delivers and picks up orders, progress notes to physicians,
medical forms/records from physician offices and facilities and
explains any documents and facilitates patient care communications;
obtains requested signatures.
- Sets effective goals and priorities; monitors progress against
plans/productivity standards.
- Identifies and closes new business opportunities, within an
assigned territory, meeting established sales objectives. Maintains
a regular presence in each of the accounts within the territory to
retain existing accounts.
- Provides the company with feedback regarding competitive
activity and other relevant information.
- Receives referrals from physicians, hospitals, and other
agencies and works with the applicable inter-company departments to
support patient admission. .
- Serves as a liaison between the agency, physicians, facilities,
referral sources, and hospitals in the community.
- Participates with clinical problem solving of patients and
referral sources to determine that needs are being met.
- Executes strategic plan and submits quarterly business review
(QBR) with specific actions and timelines for results to meet
specified admission goals.
- Initiates innovative ideas in health care systems and delivery
by keeping abreast of the public's medical needs and health care
trends through continued professional growth.
- Initiates joint projects and presentations with other community
resources to promote community awareness.
- Serves on agency committees and participates in problem-solving
and ways to improve systems in patient care.
- Works with appropriate company departments to provide
exceptional service to all customers - internal and external.
- Reports and follows-up on identified patient concerns and
quality of care issues to the appropriate individuals.
- Transmits information to the appropriate clinical supervisor
and staff nurse to facilitate admission of the patient to the
agency and to contribute to the nursing care plan. JOB
REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree is preferredEXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three (3) years of sales experience required; experience
in the Home Health or Hospice industry is
preferredCERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Not applicableTRANSPORTATION:
Must have a dependable vehicle, a valid driver's license, and
current auto insurance in accordance with the laws of the
State.TRAVEL: As needed, based on territory demographic or
organizational need.HEALTH STATUS: Meets all applicable agency
policies and procedures related to health screening and required
testing.RISK EXPOSURE (blood borne pathogens, etc.): Low
risk.PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Mentally demanding, high stress environment
- Sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently and be able to
lift at least 25lbs
- Move equipment and supplies necessary for job functions
- Read, speak, and write English in order to fulfill job
functions in an understandable way
- See/hear or use prosthetics that enable accomplishment of
job
- Meet the health requirements of the agency
- Possible exposure to infectious and communicable diseases,
chemicals, and repetitive motions
- Abide by all occupational safety and bloodborne pathogen
protocol to minimize illness and/or injury
- Complete required work daily
- Cope with work involving ill, disabled, and dying patients
