We are seeking an R&D Engineering Co Op to join our
Innovative Medical Technologies Group in North America at our
Mentor, OH facility from May 2021 - December 2021.
What you will be doing
Assist with medical device product development in the area of
Prepare technical documents fulfilling regulatory requirements
for medical devices (e.g. 510k, CE mark).
Collaborate to compile process and product specifications and
Organize project files.
Perform laboratory testing. Analyze and organize data. Prepare
samples and prototypes.
Understand and comply with cGMP, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR Part
Prepare and update project plans and contribute to project
Follow a stage-gated New Product Development Process and/or
Leverage internal and external experts in the network to
Work closely with design engineers.
Work under general direction, independently determining and
developing approaches to solutions. Work is then reviewed upon
completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

What you will need to bring to the program

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a focus on
Biomedical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or related
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Independent thinker, highly energetic and self motivated
Previous internship/co-op experience or relevant work
Experience via student organizations, such as Engineers without
Borders, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society
of Chemical Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, National Society
of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers
- Volunteerism or similar activities
- Ability to travel 10 - 20 percent of the time
