WHAT YOU WILL DO In this role you will lead direct reports who supervise, and direct labor employees involved in the manufacturing of a process area. You will manage assigned company resources (personnel, equipment and materials) to achieve work schedules and satisfy customer requirements in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: + Responsible for the overall leadership, direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned process area. + Achieve daily metrics including ESH, productivity, scarp, dock, sales and other significant measures. + Use the daily flex to monitor and manage key metrics especially variable spending; manger must understand spending details on a daily basis. + Maintain proper staffing levels to achieve budgeted levels of performance. + Analyze processes to improve efficiency (includes purchase of new capital equipment, planning arrangement of equipment, use of cost-effective production techniques) and achieve cost reduction expectations. + Implement lean manufacturing methods (6S, flow, visual organizations, etc.) + Ensure that manufacturing documentation procedures and protocol are followed at all times. + Monitor scrap yield and part efficiencies on existing programs to ensure achievement on budget. + Conducts weekly or bi-weekly employee communications meetings. + Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT + Manufacturing Passion: you have spent the last 3 to 5+ years developing your manufacturing skill set in Engineering, Operations, or Material Management. If youve worked in a casting business, that is a plus! + Proven Leadership: youve had the opportunity to lead people and teams for at least 2 years and believe that your people are the core of the business. You also have the awesome communication skills that come with it. + Manufacturing Metrics: You are a wiz at understanding manufacturing mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and you are excited to use them! + Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: You love to solve problems using data and defined problem-solving methodologies. Theory of Constraints and Six Sigma are a part of your usual day.
