Job Description PURPOSE Achieve staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates, advising managers, managing relocations, conducting new hire orientation and on-boarding, and developing an intern program. In addition, will partner with managers to anticipate and meet the evolving staffing needs of the organization and to deliver the best talent. Will nurture relationships with prospective talent and manage on-going manager relationships and provide the talent that makes this company successful. RESPONSIBILITIES Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport Determines applicant requirements by studying job description, job qualifications and meeting with managers to discuss needs Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements, contacting staffing agencies, using newsgroups and job sites Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules; arranges travel, lodging, and meals; escorting applicant to interviews; arranging community tours Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications Manages new hire orientation and on-boarding programs. Develops specific schedules per hire. Creates invitations and ensures all areas are presented Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks Manages intern program by conducting orientations; scheduling rotations and assignments; monitoring intern job contributions; coaching interns; advising managers on training and coaching Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations Accomplishes human resources and organization mission by completing related results as needed. QUALIFICATIONS 3-5 years of staffing/recruitment experience, strong understanding and ability to recruit in all levels of the organization from entry level to corporate staff 2 year degree from a recognized college or university, 4 year degree preferred Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and team based project experience Must possess strong phone, recruiting, interviewing, and people skills Clear understanding of the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle process Must have experience in mapping and sourcing resumes from all avenues Strong vendor management skills related to recruitment activities, such as search firms and job boards Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, applicant tracking systems, and in-depth knowledge of data mining and internet research Experience in general HR functions is preferred Strong organizational skills Must be results driven, professional, and use good judgment Knowledge of Diversity and Employment Law Company Description Merritt is changing the definition of woodwork and joinery from the inside out.
