Job Description PURPOSE Provides oversight and support to the human resources department and employees internationally. Supports Director of Human Resources in providing service for all HR deliverables including recruiting and hiring, compensation, benefits, strategic development, employee morale and retention, investigations, legal and administrative requirements, coaching/counseling, and training. RESPONSIBILITIES Recruiting Develop and utilize multiple sources to recruit applicants Achieve staffing goals needed to meet or exceed company objectives Evaluate applicants, schedule and conduct interviews with applicants and managers Conduct New Hire orientation and onboarding activities Development and oversight of internship programs Enhances organizational appeal by recommending new policies/practices, monitoring compensation trends, and emphasizing company perks Strategic Development Helps Director of HR to ensure policies, programs, benefits, and HR practices support company mission and business strategy Evaluates issues, patterns, and trends to provide proactive insights for development of new policies and practices Helps to develop new policies, communication thereof, and enforces policy implementation Identify training needs and create/procure a professional development curriculum thru internal and external resources Compensation/Benefits & Performance Management Helps facilitate Annual Performance Review process including analysis to ensure reviews are being completed Involvement with drafting and implementing employee coaching/counseling and improvement plans Helps facilitate and communicate compensation, benefits, PTO, and other discussions with employees Helps to ensure all legal requirements, postings and reporting is completed Performs Exit Interviews and helps with employee surveys, focus groups and other items to monitor employee morale Employee Services & Relations Assists with company meetings & special events as needed such as focus group meetings, Quarterly communications, holiday parties, service awards, etc. Facilitates questions regarding compensation, benefits, and other internal company inquiries. Conducts internal investigations, resolves complex employee relations issues, and addresses grievances Keeps an open door policy and is available for employees as questions arise Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor---s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred In lieu of degree, must have 7 years of equivalent work experience Must have a thorough understanding of personnel policies and practices Must have a strong recruiting background Skilled trade and corporate recruiting experience are a plus Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to interact with management and employees Advanced level of computer skills a must, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Company Description Merritt is changing the definition of woodwork and joinery from the inside out.
