Job Description Description A Brief Overview Supports and
assists operative teams with the daily flow of activities of the
operating room (OR) and patient care by cleaning/disinfecting the
operating room suites and related areas, transporting patients and
equipment, stocking supplies, and performing other duties as
assigned.Successful performance of this role helps UH provide safe,
helpful and courteous care to patients and directly provides safe,
helpful and courteous support services to operative teams.Initiates
and performs tasks according to established guidelines. What You
Will Do Facilitate the efficient turnover of operating rooms
between cases and preparation for the following case. Transport
patients, trays, blood gases, specimens and equipment. Support
operative team with various requests while cases are in progress.
Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively to enhance patient
care and facilitate daily operations. Participate as a productive
member of the OR Assistant team. Additional Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and
standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to
documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must
abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected
Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH
Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to

Equivalent / GED (Required) Work Experience OR
cleaning/disinfecting experience (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, &
Abilities Must be able to lift and push heavy objects such as
patients, supply and patient carts, beds, and equipment. (Required
proficiency) Must have knowledge of safe and proper handling of
hazardous waste and other substances (training provided on the
job). (Required proficiency) Must have knowledge regarding various
positioning equipment (training provided on the job). (Required
proficiency) Must have CPR skills (training provided on the job).

Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Training
provided on the job (Required) Certified Surgical Cleaning
Technician Certification (Association for Healthcare Environment)
