Job Description:
Position Overview Apex Skin is a rapidly growing, skincare

Apex MOHS Medical Assistants are responsible for assisting with
surgical procedures involving the removal of skin cancers and other
skin tumors in a surgical setting as well as administrative tasks.
Ideal candidates are certified in Medical Assisting. This is a
full-time, hourly position and will require regular travel to the
following Apex Skin locations: Ashtabula, Concord, Hudson, and
Mayfield Heights. Pay: $17.00 – $21.00 per hour plus a monthly
travel stipend after 90 days Qualifications - Certification in
Medical Assisting or Licensed Practical Nurse preferred - Surgical
or MOHS experience preferred - Experience using an Electronic
Medical Records system (EMR) - Knowledge of medical terminology and
experience taking vital signs - Current up to date CPR
certification - Must be willing to work with a team and be able to
function in a fast-paced work environment - Must be able to travel
to various Apex Skin locations on a regular basis - Required
Tuberculosis testing and Flu vaccination documentation. Essential
Functions - Performs initial patient assessment, evaluation, and
health survey data - Provide pre-and post-optative teaching for
both patient and family members - Prepping room, instruments, and
patient for surgery or biopsies - Assist during surgeries by
administering anesthesia, handoff instruments & cut sutures -
Performs administrative tasks such as maintaining patient consent
and maintaining records and documentation - Transcribes the entire
visit and assures documentation of patient care is compliant. -
Performs clerical tasks such as scheduling appointments and
follow-up appointments, maintaining and following up with patient
biopsy results, answering phones, and scanning documents into the
EMR. - Monitor and complete lab documents, biopsy and culture book,
telephone encounters, and team task box within the EMR. - Maintains
nursing practice consistent with OSHA, HIPPA, QA safety
regulations. - Assists with autoclave procedures and quality
controls. Physical Requirements Reasonable accommodations may be

walking. - Frequently required to use hands to handle, feel, and
type. - Required to lift moderate weights (20-50 pounds) - Required
vision abilities include distance vision, the ability to adjust and
