Job Description Description Working as a CRNA or AA at University Hospitals provides you with the following position benefits- /n -Diverse case mix -East and West side locations -Offer outpatient to tertiary care -Flexible scheduling options -Reliable out times -Multiple CME opportunities -Competitive compensation and benefits packages -Teaching opportunities for SRNA and SAA programs -Specialty team opportunities available with 24 hour shifts (for OB & Trauma coverage) -Administrative and Educational positions available -Sign on bonus available up to $30,000 based on experience level; ask your recruiter for more details /n /n /n What You Will Do /n /n - Interview patient and review essential data to verify patient readiness for anesthetic. /n - Assists in education of patient and family regarding the anesthetic plan and potential risks of the proposed anesthetic. /n - Prepares patient by starting appropriate access lines and initiating appropriate therapies preoperatively. /n - Prepares the equipment and drugs needed to perform the planned anesthetic. /n - Assists with induction, maintenance, and emergence phases of the anesthetic plan in accordance with the Anesthesia Care Team guidelines. /n - Ensures the safe transport of the patient to the appropriate post-operative area and provides for a smooth transition of care to the post-operative nursing staff. /n - Perform those functions necessary to establish and secure adequate ventilation, including intubation for patient throughout the institution as a member of the resuscitation team. /n /n Additional Responsibilities /n /n - Performs other duties as assigned. /n - Complies with all policies and standards. /n - For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. /n - Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. /n Qualifications Education /n /n - CRNA: Graduate of a school of professional Nursing, registered by the appropriate state-accrediting agency at the time of graduation and graduate of a school of Anesthesia approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (Both Required) /n - AA: Graduate of an accredited Anesthesiology Assistant training program with the appropriate credentials at the time of graduation and CAA Maintenance of Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiology Assistants, Current Ohio Medical Board certificate (Both Required) /n /n Licenses and Certifications /n /n - Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) in the State of Ohio (Required Upon Hire) /n - Certified Anesthesiology Assistant (CAA) by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiology Assistants and Anesthesiology Assistant (AA) with Ohio Medical Board (Required Upon Hire) /n /n Physical Demands /n /n - Standing Frequently /n - Walking Frequently /n - Sitting Rarely /n - Lifting Frequently 50 lbs /n - Carrying Frequently 50 lbs /n - Pushing Frequently 50 lbs /n - Pulling Frequently 50 lbs /n - Climbing Occasionally 50 lbs /n - Balancing Occasionally /n - Stooping Frequently /n - Kneeling Frequently /n - Crouching Frequently /n - Crawling Occasionally /n - Reaching Frequently /n - Handling Frequently /n - Grasping Frequently /n - Feeling Constantly /n - Talking Constantly /n - Hearing Constantly /n - Repetitive Motions Constantly /n - Eye/Hand/Foot Coordination Constantly /n /n Travel Requirements /n /n - 10% /n
