Job Description
Danfoss is currently hiring for our next Environmental Health and
Safety Lead to help support activities at our Brooklyn, Oh
facility. The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Lead will lead
the safety, environmental and health initiatives for the Danfoss
Power Solutions (DPS) Brooklyn, OH manufacturing site. They will
assist site leadership with establishing site specific policies and
standards to ensure compliance with regulatory and Danfoss Global
EHS requirements, prevent injuries & illnesses, reduce workers'
compensation costs and help create a strong EHS culture.
This position requires the use of information or access to
technology which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms
Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR/EAR.
ITAR/EAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent
Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to,
the following.
Plans, implements, and oversees approved safety and environmental
policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and
federal rules and regulations. (i.e. Occupational Safety and
Health, USEPA, State EPA, Municipal) Maintains accurate records as
required for these agencies.
Ensure that the local management system is compliant to agreed
customer requirements, environmental ISO standards and other
requirements within the scope of necessary certifications.
Creates and maintains EHS audit system to verify conformance to
requirements.
Creates and drives the Continuous Improvement Plans related to EHS
to ensure that customer and KPI plans are developed for all EHS
processes to meet the safety targets of the organization.
Champions safety awareness in the Brooklyn facility through
education, training, program development, documentation and job
specific support.
Serves as lead of a site safety committee to establish strategies,
create awareness, and implement improvements. Ensures safety
programs, such as, forklifts, hazardous materials, personal
protective equipment, fire protection, MSDS, material handling and
storage, hearing conservation, machinery guarding, lockout/tag out,
and emergency action plan are maintained. Participates in regional
and global activities as required.
Conducts audits to detect existing or potential environmental,
fire, safety, and health hazards, determines corrective or
preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure
measures have been implemented.
Facilitates the investigation of incidents, injuries, and near
misses and maintains proper documentation. Assists in the
preparation of material and evidence for organization use in
hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations. Ensures proper
completion of the Initial WC Report and makes sure employees
receive initial appropriate care.
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and
materials. Develop and implement long term solutions that will
eliminate subsequent problems.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S from a four-year college or
university); or a minimum of five years Safety/Environmental
experience in a global manufacturing environment and/or training,
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience implementing or maintaining EHS Management Systems, ie.
ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.
Significant knowledge of U.S. Environmental, Safety & Health laws
(OSHA & EPA) required.
Strong communication, presentation, training and facilitation,
project management skills are essential.
Proficiency in LEAN and Continuous Improvement manufacturing
principles.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Process safety management experience desired.
Exemplary customer service skills and attention to detail.
Advanced skills using the Microsoft suite, including Excel,
PowerPoint and Access databases.
Strong analytical skills to analyze safety & health data.
