Job Description:
The Propulsion System (PRS) simulation and analysis Engineer is
responsible for mainly using but also sometimes developing
proprietary frameworks and codes to analyze efficiency of
Electrified/non-Electrified Propulsion Technology studying several
metrics and KPIs (vehicle range, energy consumption, fuel economy,
acceleration, power and towing capability, gradeability, charging
rates) Additional specific responsibilities include: Modeling
activities including using first principles to develop high level
models and features as well as the analysis of the produced
results. 1-D modeling techniques of vehicle acceleration launches
in different setups/scenarios (VDE, weight, traction limits, road
grades …etc.)- and various fuel economy cycles for variety of
propulsion systems including those that utilize but not limited to
ICE, e-Machines, EVT, CVT, AT, MT, for hybrid and non-hybrid PRS
for all existing PRS architectures Tracking and Establishing energy
balance sheets and energy flows tracking component losses and
efficiencies Correlation of models to vehicle test data Traces
generation and plotting of test and simulation data Integration of
analytical calculations (pre/post-processing) and basic or advanced
control logics governing the behavior of the physical portion of
the models embedded into the vehicle applications. Creating and
using pre-processing and post-processing tools and provide support
to resolve issues connected to the utilization of the proprietary
frameworks and codes Communication of the results in oral
presentations and written reports to Chief Engineers, SDLs, COEs,
Component Engineers and others including Powertrain management is
