Engineer Description - Develop, write, and maintain detailed
manufacturing process documentation for prototype and early-stage
builds. - Capture step-by-step build activities, tooling needs,
material flow, and quality checkpoints. - Observe and document
hands-on assembly work to create repeatable, scalable processes. -
Translate engineering drawings into clear, usable work instructions
for future production teams. - Support assembly during the initial
R&D build phase. - Work directly with technicians and engineers
to validate build steps and identify process improvements. -
Perform hands-on tasks as needed, including mechanical assembly,
fit-up, and troubleshooting. - Use SolidWorks to review, update,
annotate, and redline engineering drawings. - Collaborate with
design engineers to resolve manufacturability issues. - Create or
modify 3D models, assemblies, and documentation packages as
required. - Identify inefficiencies or risks in early build
processes and propose corrective actions. - Contribute to the
transition from prototype builds to a structured manufacturing
environment. - Support the development of tooling, fixtures, and
layout recommendations. Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree
in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related
field (or equivalent experience). - Strong ability to document
processes clearly and thoroughly. - Experience with SolidWorks (CAD
modeling, drawing review, redlining). - Hands-on mechanical
aptitude; comfortable working in a shop or prototype environment. -
Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving R&D setting with
limited initial structure. Job Type & Location This is a Contract
position based out of Akron, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for
this position is $31.25 - $36.06/hr. Eligibility requirements apply
to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and
