Senior Quality EngineerStatus: SalaryReporting Relationship: Reports directly to Quality ManagerLocation: Mentor / RP, OHEducation: B.S. degree in Engineering or Material Science. GD+T and ISO certifications is a plus.PersonalCharacteristics: Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors. Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality / quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency.Work Experience: 1-3 years aerospace or IGT quality experience preferred. Experience which combines both customer contact and technical discipline will also be considered. Movement from Quality Engineer to Senior Quality Engineer is based on experience and performance.Principal Area ofResponsibility: Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.Specific Duties:

  • Responsible for review of customer drawings, specifications, etc. to identify customer quality requirements - product and system.
    • Quality investigations as required to identify and eliminate scrap/rework causes and customer issues.
      • Develop and maintain Quality systems with the customer and manufacturing organization to ensure delivery of quality products.
        • Direct involvement with advanced NDT development, training and implementation on strategic engine programs.
          • Interface with customer representative for source inspections and quality issue resolution.
            • Prepare inspection instructions for radiographic, fluorescent penetrant, grain etch, visual and dimensional inspection.
              • Perform audits to monitor product quality/ISO requirements and support manufacturing/inspection training activity as needed.
                • Maintain, monitor and develop systems relating to ISO, AS9100, NADCAP and other similar industry standards.
                  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.Physical andMental Demands:
                    • Incumbent must physically and mentally perform the job demands as required for this position.
                      • The ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines.
