Architects is excited to hire for an Finance and Loan Assistant
role for our direct client. in Cleveland Ohio. The general purpose
of this position is to provide excellent customer service
internally and externally by assisting with loan servicing,
accounts payable and receivable functions; assisting with audit
workpaper preparation; and by assisting borrowers with submitting
applications and due diligence for new loans. This position will
work under the guidance of the Controller and Senior Lending
Officer. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Strong
background in accounts payable, accounts receivable and
processing/recording business and financial transactions Ability to
assist in maintaining accurate financial and loan records Post
receipts, disbursements and other transactions to ensure integrity
of controls and timely and accurate completion of monthly account
reconciliations. Working knowledge of, and/or previous experience
in commercial mortgage banking and loan servicing procedures.
Ability to review and track commercial loan documents (follow-up to
assure all original documents [promissory note, deed of trust,
final ALTA policy, hazard insurance] are received) and uploaded to
Network. Strong organizational skills with an ability to organize
invoices, payments, loan records and monitor accounts to maintain
accurate financial records Extensive experience and proficiency in
all computer applications including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe,
Loan Processing software and other Web-based programs. Experience
with NetSuite is highly desirable. Maintain servicing of new loans
on mortgage accounting software for the life of loan (posting
payments, disbursements, and managing the process for updating
account records). An ability to develop an understanding of the
nuances of church building loans (vs commercial loans made by
traditional banks and other lenders); the products and services
tailored to church borrowers and the needs, challenges, and
opportunities in the field of church-owned real estate. Ability to
relate and clearly communicate with operating management, financial
staff and other departments. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform
this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are

Bachelors degree in business; in lieu of a degree, good working
knowledge of, and previous experience in commercial mortgage
lending and loan servicing procedures. A clear understanding of or
a deep commitment to learning the nuances of church building loans
(vs loans by traditional banks and other lenders); the products and
services tailored to church borrowers, and the needs, challenges,
and opportunities in the field of church-owned real estate. Strong
work ethic exhibiting a sense of urgency in completion of tasks and
willingness to work a flexible schedule. Self-starter with ability
to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload and remain
motivated and positive. Well organized and detail-oriented, and
exceptional time management. Willingness to take appropriate
initiative for the effective operation of the Fund. Excellent
written and verbal communication skills coupled with
excellentproofreading and editing skills. Ability to perform within
a collaborative team-oriented office. Commitment and sensitivity to
the variety of local church traditions and cultural andethnic
backgrounds represented in the United Church of Christ. Clear
understanding of the need for confidentiality. Enjoys working
collaboratively with a team and willingly assists staff in
performing other servicing-related duties as requested and
assigned. Understanding of and commitment to the mission of the
Church, with a knowledge of, or a willingness to learn about the
history and polity of the United Church of Christ and of the
history, purpose, and programs of Church Building; Loan Fund Desire
and sensitivity to work in diverse racial, ethnic, cultural and
religious settings with commitment to diversity in the workplace as
