Job Description:
POSITION OVERVIEWReporting to the Senior Director of Finance and
Business Operations, the Financial Analyst supports the fiscal
operations of the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing ( SON ) with
responsibilities centered on budget development and analysis,
business growth and development, general business operations,
reconciliation, reporting, and training on fiscal policies and
procedures. The Financial Analyst works closely with various
external offices including the Provost's Office, Financial Planning
and Analysis, Accounts Payable, General Accounting, Purchasing, and
Human Resources.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES--- Assists in
developing annual operating, gift, endowment, carry forward, and
capital budgets--- Provides budget development and spending
guidance to faculty administrators, department chairs, committees,
etc.--- Compiles and analyzes financial information for the SON ,
and performs data entry in spreadsheets and/or databases, as
needed--- Conducts analysis of budget to actual variance reports on
a monthly basis related to operating, gift, endowment, and carry
forward accounting units types--- Reviews expenses on non-grant AUs
on monthly basis for accuracy--- Ensures budgetary compliance and
identifies cost-savings opportunities--- Prepares budget transfers
and expense transfers--- Initiates personnel action forms and
prepares salary transfers--- Generates invoices and reconciles
payment receipt--- Prepares quarterly settlement, annual
reconciliation and projections for hybrid ABSN program--- Prepares
financial models for business expansion opportunities (e.g., new
programs/initiatives, discount modeling, faculty practice
opportunities, etc.)--- Assists department with the purchasing of
equipment, acquisition of services, and processing of related
vendor payments--- Obtains quotes, processes equipment/supply
orders, and prepares purchasing checklists--- Assists with
generating consultant contracts, scope of work documents, payment
terms, workers classification forms, and W-9 documentation---
Prepares and submits POs, payment requisitions and expense
reimbursements; maintains financial files and responds to status
inquires--- Processes procard payments and assists with Procard
approvals--- Assists with annual salary planning process---
Prepares annual scholarship budget file for student affairs
director--- Assists with faculty payroll processing and contract
generation--- Maintains gift and endowment documentation---
Establishes Marketplace sites and facilitates credit card
deposits--- Develops and maintains internal forms, policies,
procedures and training materials--- Provides training on LUC
fiscal policies and procedures, budget management, financial
reporting tools--- Provides direct and backup support for the
Senior Director of Finance and Business Operations--- Coordinates
special projects, as assigned--- Performs other duties, as

ExperienceBachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years of experience in
accounting or financial analysis.Qualifications--- Strong verbal

interpret financial reports--- Excellent Excel (e.g., pivot tables,
v-lookups, formulas, etc.), presentation, communication, and time
management skills.--- Strong analytical and modeling skills using a
variety of data modeling techniques--- Strong analytical and
strategic thinking skills to provide thought leadership and
identify financial, operational and process improvement
opportunities--- Must deal effectively with ambiguities and be able
to manage multiple projects through completion, often under tight
deadlines--- Must possess strong attention to detail and ability to
consistently generate a high quality work product with minimal
supervision--- Ability to work with colleagues at all levels of the
University and to respond to customer inquiries and regulatory
agencies in a prompt, professional manner--- Experience working
with a variety of reporting and analytic platforms and tools,
preferred--- In depth understanding of financial, budget and
payroll systems, or similarly complex administrative systems,

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, e.g., Excel, Word, Forms,
